February 2025

The month in brief

February balanced privacy, performance, and pragmatism. We added Google Analytics 4 for modern event tracking, introduced a new caching layer to keep guides quick under load, clarified cookie controls, and made pricing more flexible for seasonal teams. Along the way, we shipped a stack of map and UI refinements.

Deep dive: GA4 and responsible measurement

We’ve standardised analytics on Google Analytics 4. Customers can now configure GA4 to track key events across guides, with UTM parameters for campaign clarity. In parallel, we deprecated the Measurement API and removed Meta/Facebook tracking, aligning with customer requests for a simpler, transparent stack. Our updated cookie model uses an opt-in approach with an Improvements category that preserves essential, privacy-minded metrics even when third-party tracking is off.
